(meteorobs) Sept 27/28 Observations from East GA
I returned to my site this morning for
another visual session, hoping to get in the last three
hours before dawn. I was eventually clouded
out again, but not before I managed to get
in a full hour's teff and then some. Rates
were only half what they were during my brief
session Wednesday morning, seeing just one DAU over
an hour's watch (as opposed to 5
in roughly thirty minutes Wednesday).
But rates weren't disappointing as I saw a
total of ten meteors including a -3 SPO
that shot through Pegasus, pretty much behind
me. The brightness of the
meteor seemed to illuminate the very brief train;
the meteor was distinctly yellow.
Shortly after 4:10 local time thin, wispy,
low-lying clouds began racing through the area,
ghostly cotton balls that merged until only Capella
and a few other bright
stars remained. Of course, when I gave up and
arrived home, it was clear again...
