(meteorobs) Re: microphone for sonic booms
If I may make a suggestion --
You may want to try using five similar microphones. Four of the
microphones are mounted in a square, with the input element facing
outward, and
the fifth microphone facing skyward. The output of the microphones
are
fed into seperate preamps - determine by expermentation. You will
have
to determine if additional amplification is needed. The output of the
amplifiers (or microphones unamplified) is then fed into an
audiomixer. Adjusting that the
microphone input is equal. The mixer output is then fed into the
video recorder or other recorder.
The microphones can be mounted on a tripod above the ground.
