(meteorobs) Orionids from S'pore Oct 18, 19
Hi folks:
Just a short note to say I was / still is surprised by the frequency
of the Orionids seen using the watec-902H/25mm 0.95 lens. I did not
have full report but would like to share a pic of a negative Orionid
Fireball captured on the Sunday early am hours. This one occured smack
right in the FOV and I could see the persistence trail.
ORI - fireball http://www.ykchia.com/orionids_03.htm
For both Oct 18 and Oct 19 local time 4 am onwards - Orionids - were
showing up steadily in the watec-902H /25mm lens.. Mangae to bag x4
ORI ( two of them occuring within 2 seconds of each other) on Oct 18(1
hr) and x8 ORI Oct 19 predawn sky in 1hr 45 min . Visually ( mag 2-3)
the sky was hopeless but via watec's infra sensitive ccd (LM>+7) it was
another matter.
Orionids peak on 22 my 4am but forecast is bad weather ..
downloaded Rainer's Radiant software and the 43 pages pdf.... and
with a little of luck I could discern which of these 4+8 were EGE if
possible.
p/s I am searching for more reports of ORI but found not too many,
radio data from Japan?
