(meteorobs) Re: what am i doing wrong?



Arlene,

Since you were out for two hours each time I assume you were sitting or
lying down. You must be comfortable while viewing. The direction and
altitude one faces can also affect the number of meteors seen. The western
half of the sky should be avoided during the morning hours unless the moon
lies in the east. If you have permanent skyglow to the east then looking
toward the south would be better. I have gone as long as one hour without
seeing activity, but never two. During the early morning hours this time of
year the activity should be abundant.
