Re: (meteorobs) Alert!!! Comet Encke!! (OT for some)
Hi, Cathy and all,
Just came back from the dome, participated the activity of the Youth
Astronomical Society of Peking University (PKU).
M31, M32, M110 and Encke were all seen under normally good weather
conditions. :-)
BTW, there was observation activity on the night of October 18/19 here in
PKU. About 40 members took part in, but no one monitored meteor activity
specially. I saw one faint meteor (+8th mag.?) that night while adjusting
the telescope. No others had meteor detection. The weather of that night was
fair good, so i think the unknown meteor source hadn't been active in local
time of Beijing.
