(meteorobs) Leonids Nov. 17/18 from Oregon near "normal"



I had my alarm set for 3:10am local; at that time, like the rest of the night, it was overcast.  I didn't bother to reset it; however, I woke up accidentally at 4am to clear skies.  

Activity wasn't too exciting; there were meteorless voids of 12 minutes and 16 minutes.  There were a couple of bright meteors: a very fast -2 Leonid and a very slow -3 Taurid.  Conditions were pretty good for a thick crescent Moon, but faint meteors seemed to be lacking.

Weather might just hold through tonight...maybe.
