Re: (meteorobs) Fireball sonic booms!



Hello Bob:
    Thanks for your email and references about the V2.  A sonic boom was not
heard at the impact site as the V2 hit before the delayed sonic boom
arrived.  It is possible that a boom was heard down range along the
trajectory some distance away from the impact point.  This V2 thing was just
a diversion.  I am more interested in when sonic booms were recognized to be
associated with an entering meteoroid.  None of the papers I have mention
this.
