Peter,
DCV stands for (D)istance from (C)enter of (V)iew. Along with the shower and
magnitude, one would record the DCV for each meteor. What you would expect
is a value near zero for faint meteors and lengthening distances for the
brighter meteors. What was interesting was to compare your results with
other observers. Those with enhanced perceptions and/or better skies would
see fainter meteors further from their center of view. Some with limited
perceptions and/or poor skies would rarely see any meteors beyond ten
degrees out. It was an interesting experiment perhaps worthy of a repeat
try.
