(meteorobs) Observation 23/12/2003
Hi!
There was a little problem with my mail settings, so I'll repost the
report now.
I'm a little late with my report, but some things have interfered with
my Christmas plans this year that made everything go a little
slower... still: here's my report.
I also checked for activity from the radiant in central Leo as
suggested by Kim Youmans and found two plots on my map to be
candidates, one of the Sporadics crosses Lynx and is a candidate for
the source Robert Lunsford mentions in his recent meteor outlook, so
too bad we do not have more plots of these possible sources yet.
Season's Greetings to all of you and clear skies
Daniel Gruen

enumeration starts in the 20/02/2003 session
all coordinates in mm from the lower left corner of the map
velocity scale:
1 - very slow; 2 - slow; 3 - medium; 4 - fast; 5 - very fast
* lines up with the URS radiant, but might be too slow and
to short at this distance from the radiant
Y a candidate for Kim Youmans' radiant in central LEO
+ no perfect intersection with the ANT radiant, but all ANTs
will be archived as Sporadics anyway I guess
~ strong yellow color
L backtrace crosses the constelleation of Lynx around 35 LYN,
therefore a candidate for the Lynx activity mentioned by
Robert Lunsford
Comments: Ursid rates were not a surprise, but still nice to
at least see something after two clouded nights. Kim Youmans
suggested a radiant in central Leo in his posts on the meteorobs
mailing list, so I checked my plots (to bad he didn't plot some
of his meteors) and found the two I noted as COM to be possibly
radiating from there.
Please note: d = degrees, all times in UT
