Please put any additional remarks, sketches, drawings, etc. below:
When I saw it I was driving west on Interstate 10 and had just passed the
Univ. Texas at El Paso campus. The
Sun Bowl was on my right and the Rio Grande on my left. From my perspective the
fireball appeared to be falling between the smokestacks of the ASARCO plant next
to I-10. (although i understand from what i learned afterwards from Dr. Robert
Liefeld at NMSU that it actually was much further away and this was just
appearance.)
At first I saw a small streak high in the sky and as it fell the fireball
appeared and increased in size until from my perspective it
seemed to disappear at a height lower than that of the tops of the smokestacks
of the ASARCO plant.
