(meteorobs) Lyrids AT LAST! (was Re: Meteor Activity Outlook for April 16-22, 2004)

What a joy to be back in "meteor season", and in a year
where the moon will be favoring so many major showers!

This year's Lyrid peak is falling mid-week, so some may
find it difficult to observe - albeit this radiant WILL
be high enough for useful observations already by 10pm,
in many areas of the Northern Hemisphere...

So what plans have list members made this year, to get
out for the "big Spring shower"? I'd enjoy hearing how
people are preparing to enjoy this first good meteor
observing opportunity many of us have had in a while.

Have you thought about taking time off work next week?
Anyone planning to travel to dark-sky sites? Or will
some of us (like me) be fighting that running battle
to get out as often as we can, and still get enough
sleep to go into work every day?

Share your story! Clear skies,

Lew Gramer
