(IAAC) Self introduction

Hi everyone --

I wanted to take a moment and say "Hi" to everyone and introduce myself.  I
have enjoyed "lurking" here for a short while and reading the great
observations posted by everyone.

I got interested in space and science pretty early on.  I received a 60mm
refractor as a present when I was about 9 or 10 and really got a kick out of
looking at the Moon and Jupiter.  Unfortunately, I fell out of touch with it
for quite a while.  Not much support by my school and other things kind of
took over.

About 3-1/2 years ago, I got the bug again and bought a 4-1/2" f8 Newtonian
and started relearning the sky again.  It was great seeing the planets again
and the Messier objects for the first time.  I could hardly believe my eyes
looking at M42!  I was hooked forever!  Since then, I've rebuilt the little
4-1/2" to allow me to use 1.25" eyepieces (which made a huge difference) and
I've picked up a pair of 10x50 binoculars which I really enjoy using!

And finally, I bought an 8" f4.5 on a GP mount that I want to use for
astrophotography.  That's my next endeavor.  I'm still in the learning phase
and can't wait to get fully involved with it.

Unbelievably the clouds gave us a break here in AZ for a few short hours!
