RE: (IAAC) Berkley 10 - 8inch F/10

Yann,
I have observed Be 10 with my 10". Walter Scott Huston once called for
observations of this object, saying that it might take at least a 16" to spot
it.

Object: Berkley 10
Category: open cluster
Constellation: Cam
Object data: diam.12' - 50 stars of v12.5 and fainter; trumpler type II3p
RA/DE: 03h39.4 +66 32
Description: medium sized cluster, quite faint, quite totally diffuse; 2
"polar" knots are apparent on this diffuse patch of 6.7' in diameter (it
ressembles the planetary PK164+31.1/PN G 164.8+31.1); one knots stands on
the Northern side and shows a mag14 star; one on the southern side looks
grainy and some very faint star are separated with indirect vision
depending on the seeing; some mag12-13 stars are scattered outside of the
cluster; a mag10 star stands 20' to the SSE.

I can provide a scanned drawing of Berkley 10 to anyone who can read the
binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
