This is a neat technique, Steve - simple, but I'd never thought of it! This 
actually could be quite powerful, if for instance, you managed to segment a 
fairly symmetrical globular cluster into tiny areas... Imagine being able to 
even *estimate* the number of resolved stars in M5 in a 13"!
