:Stunning!!! The OIII filter subdues the central cluster but brings out a
:wealth of detail in the nebula which spans ~ 1.5 degrees. Much large scale
:mottling. A broad, faint patch ESE extends about 40'. Brighter patches
:hug the N, W, and SW sides of the cluster. Central void dark and irregular
with southernmost stars of the cluster embedded in nebulosity. Void ~ 20'.
:Without a filter, the OC has 5 bright + a few fairly bright stars arranged
in 2 parallel curved lines. About 40 fainter stars cluster around this,
many
:spilling over into the nebulosity.
