I see your point, Penny - though I think amateurs tend to use the
word "asterism" to refer to the telescopic variety, more often than
the (properly defined) naked-eye star patterns. True, what we often
think of as "Orion" (belt, shoulders, knees, sword, maybe a head)
is actually just an asterism, not the complete constellation. But
folks don't generally seem to make that fine distinction too often.

Too bad there isn't a similar set of worlds like "binary", "visual
double", etc. to describe more numerous groupings of stars...
