(IAAC) Brightish supernova discovered in M88!

Another nearby galaxy with a supernova - the second this season! M88
is one of the fine galaxies in the Virgo/Coma "Realm of Galaxies", so
get your scopes out as soon as the moon is well out of the way - but
before twilight eats this Springtime object!

Dear SN watchers,

Bright SN has been discovered by LOSS KAIT team. See IAUC 7185 for
details. The host galaxy NGC 4501 is fairly nearby one (v_r is about
2500 km/s), so the expected SNeIa maximum would be order of 14 mag.
Followup is urged.

Sincerely Yours,
Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan
