(IAAC) Re: extragalactic globulars



The brightest glob in M31 has 13.7 magnitudes (V). Referred to as
G1 or Mayall II, it was recently imaged with the HST. Because of
its great angular distance from the galaxy's center (some 2.5
degrees), it's missing from 'Atlas of the Andromeda Galaxy' by
Hodge, Luginbuhl & Skiff's 'Observing Handbook...' or David
Higgins article in Autumn 1990 'Deep Sky'. See my article in Sky
