Subject: 1918+04 NOVA AQUILAE 1999 NUMBER 2         No. 537

1918+04 NOVA AQUILAE 1999 NUMBER 2

We have been informed by the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams
(IAU Circular 7323) that AAVSO observer and visual nova searcher Alfredo
Pereira, Portugal, has discovered a bright nova in Aquila on DEC 01.785 UT
at about visual magnitude 6.0.  His discovery was made during his visual
search of the area using 14x100 binoculars.  Visual confirmation was made
by C. Vitorino (Portugal), D. Green (USA), and D. di Cicco (USA).

A precise position of N Aql 99 No. 2 was reported by D. di Cicco as:
    R.A. = 19h 23m 05s.38   Decl.= +04 57' 20".1  (Equinox 2000.0)

Observations obtained form IAU Circular 7323 and reported to the AAVSO
include the following:
