(IAAC) My Observing Session on Monday March 6, 2000
I decided not let a great night go to waste so I took a nap and went
to our observatory about 00:00.
Sky Conditions
Sky Transparency: Excellent
Seeing: Very Steady.
Limiting Magnitude: 7th ( 8 stars in Little Dipper)
Temperature: 33-35 degrees.
Equipment Used:
Telescope: 12.5" Newtonian
Eyepieces: 18mm Ultra Wide, 12.4mm Ultra Wide, 9mm Nagler
Filters: UHC, OIII, H-beta
Objects observed:
1. 70 Galaxies in the Coma - Virgo Cluster in about 30 minutes
2. Lost Galaxy NGC 4526:
Constellation: Virgo Magnitude: 9.6 Size: 5.0' x 2.0'
Position Angle: 112.0
Other description: Very elongated galaxy with bright core.
Dreyer description: Very bright, very large, moderately extended 120+/-,
westward abruptly much brighter middle, between 2 stars 7th magnitude.
RA: 12h 34m 00.0s Dec: +07o42'00" (Epoch 2000)
Azm: 281o23'56" Alt: -01o29'18"
Rise: 19:00 Transit: 01:33 Set: 08:01
3. NGC 6207 Constellation: Her Magnitude: 11.6 Size: 2.0' x 1.0'
Position Angle: 14.0
Other description: Very elongated galaxy with bright core.
Dreyer description: Pretty bright, pretty large, extended 45=B0 +/-,
very gradually much brighter middle.
RA: 16h 43m 06.0s Dec: +36o50'00" (Epoch 2000)
Azm: 275o32'06" Alt: +60o39'23"
Rise: 20:56 Transit: 05:41 Set: 14:22

5) Central Star in the Ring Nebula.
6) PLN 25-4.1 & 4.2 Constellation: Scutum
Angular Size: >86 Mean Radial Velocity: -36 Magnitude: 15.0
RA: 18h 54m 37.9s Dec: -08o50'09" (Epoch 2000)
Azm: 190o56'09" Alt: +40o17'03"
Rise: 02:20 Transit: 07:52 Set: 13:24
