Re: (IAAC) Obj: Alpha Ori - Inst: 10" F4.8 Equatorial Mount GP/DX

Hi Barry,

Here's some info I garnered from SMP: Alpha has 2 very close components,
A being 0.06" distant and B being 0.51" distant.(and mag 14.5) There are
also 4 other stars in the "system",(B-E) ranging from mag 11 to 14.5 and
with separations of 40" to 174". The D star is listed as an optical
double.

Hope this helps a bit.

Best regards,
Bill

If anyone could clear this up i would apprceciate it. i know that if there is just a circle with no colour then that indicates a variable, but with a horizontal line does this not indicate a double. If this is wrong then i appologise.
