Checking
the Digitized Sky Survey for both positions reveals the same object as in the
picture you gave the URL to in your first message for Steinicke’s
position, and mysteriously nothing definite for Corwin’s position, though
there might be a background dark nebula, my laptop’s screen not showing
it really much, maybe it’s better on a “real” screen…
Still
the same laptop does show some (faint but definite) dark nebula at and around Steinicke’s position. Steinicke
quotes LDN 1653, which is a large object… Use a large field of view to
see it. I used 30 arcmins:
