Description:
Easily found in the "house" of Cepheus, near Ksi Cep.
This complex consists of an open cluster, associated
nebulosity, and an additional patch of nebulosity to
the NE. Visible even to direct vision in the 10x50s
as a hazy, mottle brightening in the lovely star
background of Cepheus' Milky Way. Even with averted
vision, however, this brightening was too small to
reveal any additional detail. Nonetheless a thrill
to see such an unusual complex in mere 50mm binocs,
thanks to the darkness of this sky.
