Visible as a brightish group of 4 or 5 stars mags 5 to 7,
forming a wide triangle with - and lying W of - pi-2 and
rho Cyg. Amid the dull white stars of this group, a faint
unresolved haze was also apparent, especially on the W
edge, where 4 to 7 other stars (probably ranging in mag
from 8 to 10) were very intermittently directly visible.
Probably one of the more INTERESTING observations of this
night - thanks to the large size and brightness of M39.
