Object data: HII Emission nebula within M33 (Galaxy)
Thought I would casually try to see some HII regions within M33 and was
relatively shocked to find that one of them, NGC604 is bright and easy, near
the tip of one of the spiral arms. NGC 604 seemed like a small oval smudge @
61x, but with higher power, showed itself to have a relatively flat side,
with a somewhat free-form, rounded appearance on top that was very similar
to a tiny Orion nebula (M42). Using the UHC filter dimmed most of the parent
galaxy M33, but did not at all dim NGC604, and in fact, increased it's
contrast slightly to moderately. Indeed, I looked up more info. on NGC604 on
the web, & it is in fact, very similar to M42, but in a totally separate
galaxy.
