Description:M88 is a very elongated lenticular appearing galaxy with a
stellar nucleus and bright central core.It extends over the entire field of
my 9 mm Orthoscopic eyepiece. A distinct dark lane was visible south of the
nucleus with a somewhat more doubtful one further out and another dark lane
visible to north and north east of the nucleus. To the west of the core
blobiness and a darker patch were seen. There is a slight condensation to
the east of the nucleus.
Another superb galaxy.
