Description:
After my early-morning "farmer's wakeup", I dragged my much-
battered and muddied 20" out of my host's barn, and began a
machine-gun series of observations in Virgo's "nebular realm"
(see previous log for M104) as twilight rapidly approached!

My tour of the Virgo Cluster proper began at rho Vir, sited
a few degrees W of Vindemiatrix (epsilon Vir). A lovely wide
quadruple showed around rho in my 55' field of view (70x).
Just 15' W, n4608 was an obvious blur, elongates slightly
E-W, with a somewhat brighter core but a much brighter near-
stellar nucleus. At neither 70x nor 210x did I note any more
detail, either in the core or the averted-vision 2.5'x2' halo.
