Description With UHC filter there was an interestingly shield shaped patch
of nebulosity with a star 2/3 way down to the northern edge. Using an OIII
filter dramatically improved the amount of faint detail that could be
perceived. There was an strand going south west for one eyepiece width. This
joined onto a ring structure on the following side of the nebula. The ring
ran round the f. edge to the north end of the nebula and seemed to flatten
and turn close around the north of the nebula. Nebulosity was less obvious
on the wastern edge. The shield had a bright patch on its southern edge.
