Description:
At 100X in the 13" with no filter this nebula is pretty faint, large,
irregularly round and has a pretty low surface brightness. It is
visible, but no obvious. There are 10 stars involved, including a triple
on the NW side of the nebula. Adding the UHC filter at 100X is much
better, the nebulosity is unmistakeable. Not so much larger in size,
but it has a lot more contrast. The nebula is shaped like a shrimp,
however there are members of the Saguaro Astronomy Club who call it
the "Pac Man" nebula. Either way, a fascinating shape.
