Description: you've got to be a stargazer (ie someone "strange" to ordinary
people) to be alone in the cold dark night concentrated on complicated
equipment at midnight on Christmas day... small to medium-sized galaxy,
quite faint, about 3.2' in estimated diameter, quite fuzzy because of soft
edges; stellar nucleus of mag14 sometimes seen turbulence permitting.

I can provide a scanned drawing of IC 334 to anyone who can read the binhex
encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
(ypothier@abi.snv.jussieu.fr), it works sometimes with other
configurations...
