Description:
With the RFT and a 22mm Panoptic that give about 40X this compact globular
cluster really swims in the Milky Way. I saw it as bright, large,
round and much brighter in the middle, an obvious globular even at
low power. There is a pretty bright star (about 9th mag) on the west
side of the cluster. Raising the power to 100X with an 8.8mm Meade
UWA will resolve 6 stars at the edge of this cluster. There is still
a fuzzy central section. Averted vision will show about 20 more very
faint stars that are at the limit of the 6 inch scope. These faint
members were never held steady at the higher power.
