Object: Vy 1-2 (PK 53+24 1; PN G053.3+24.0)
Category: Planetary Nebula
Constellation: HER
Object data: Vmag=3D12.0; dim.5"; type II; central * ??; discovered by
Vyssotsky in 1942; ELCAT: [OIII 4959+5007]=3D16x[Hbeta]
RA/DE: 17h54.4m, +28=B000' (2000); Uranometria 116

Description: at 211x and OIII, very small PN, round with nebulous edges;
faint and nebulous when powers are 211x and up (under it lokks stellar);
brighter center; no central star, no colour; UHC as a good contrast gain
and OIII has a very good one; Hbeta shows no gain; the spectrum shows a
bright elongated patch at the OIII lines area and a very faint patch at
Hbeta.

encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try

configurations...
