I was taken aback by how huge this edge-on galaxy is. It took
nearly my entire field of view stretching from top to bottom 
across the eyepiece. One normally expects to see something with 
more width after such a strength of length. It is similar but a tad
fatter and with less sfc. brightness than NGC 3079, and also has 
2 to 3 foreground stars .. but in this instance, they cut diagonally
across the galaxy at around 60 degrees from it's axis.
