Class:
Constellation: Orion
Data: mag size
Position: RA 05:32 DEC -00:18
Description:
PA estimated at ~010deg, although SkyMap suggests an almost N-S
orientation. This error is probably due to the relative difficulty of
field orientation in an altaz scope, especially given the awkwardness
of turning a Meade SCT drive off and on to determine the direction of
star drift. Nevertheless, the comes (SAO132221) appeared distinctly
blue (again, this may be my dodgy perception) compared to the briliant
white Mintaka, although Mintaka has a slightly 'bluer' spectral type
(O9.5 compared to B2).
