Object data: Vmag=3D14.7; Bmag=3D15.2; dim.35"x35" (40" in IDB); type III;
central star of Vmag=3D19.6; discovered by Abell in 1955 and Kohoutek in 196=
3.
RA/DE: 05h31.8m, +06=B056' (2000); Uranometria 180

Description: at 145x and OIII, medium sized PN, quite "bright" (compared to
common Abell PNs), round and homogeneous with quite sharp edges; estimated
diameter about 27" (on drawing); OIII filter has a very good contrast gain
and UHC has a good one; invisible at 45x without filter, visible at 74x and
even at 45 with OIII when already located at higher power; well seen after
87x, even without filter; a mag13 star is 30" to the SE.

I can provide a scanned drawing of Abell 10 to anyone who can read the
binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
(ypothier@abi.snv.jussieu.fr), it works sometimes with other
configurations...
