Description:
Djorgovski 1 or DJ1 is a recently discovered globular cluster. It was suprisingly
large appearing over 6' across and is very faint. The clusters boundries are
illdefined due to its low surface brightness and several 13th and 14th magnitude
stars are scattered about the face. no central condensation was visible. This
cluster is one of the more challenging objects for qwners of large telescopes.
A finder chart is a must, I used one printed from Megastar. Be warned though
Megastar shows the cluster as being quite small.
Happy hunting and clear skies
