Object data: Vmag=12.0; Bmag=13.6; 13"x13"; type IIIb; central star of
Vmag=15.8; discovered by Fleming in 1905; ELCAT: [OIII, 496+501nm] = 16 x
[Hbeta, 486nm].
RA/DE: 01h57.59m, +63°19.3' (2000)
Date and UT of observation: 31 July 1992, early morning
Location & latitude: Chateau-Renard Obs. (France, latN44 39, longE06 28)
Site classification: mountain peak, alt.2950m (8900ft)
Limiting magnitude (visual in UMi): 6.4 with averted vision
Transparency (1 to 5 - best to worst): 1
Seeing (1 to 5 - best to worst): 3
Moon up (phase?): no
Instrument: Cassegrain 24.4"/620mm F/15
Magnification: 390-650x
Filters used: none

Description: already nebulous at 390x located 40" towards PA165d from a
mag11 star; at 650x, oval shape about 12"x9" with the great axis pointing
PA170d, clearly annular with brighter "poles" (PA160d & 350d) giving the
elongated shape visible at lower powers; 2 mag14-15 stars to the NW;
central star clearly visible, somewhat decentered towards the WSW.

binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
(ypothier@abi.snv.jussieu.fr), it works quite often with other
configurations...
