Date/time of observation: 1999/11/29 01:59 UT
Location of site: ASH Naylor Observatory, Lewisberry, PA (Lat 40.15 d N, 76.9 d W, Elev 190 meters)
Site classification: Exurban
Sky darkness: >5.0 <Limiting magnitude>
Seeing: 5 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>
Moon presence: None - moon not in sky
Instrument: 17" f/15 classical Cassegrain equatorial mount
Magnification: 118x
Filter(s): None
Object(s): Dolidze-Dzimselejsvili 4
Category: Open cluster.
Class:
Constellation: Taurus
Data: mag size 28'
Position: RA 5h:35.9m DEC +25d:57'
Description:
DoDz 4, a rather large collection of about three dozen stars, is a more
attractive celestial target than nearby DoDz 3, which lies 40' to the
northwest. Two bright stars of sixth and seventh magnitude highlight this
open cluster. A lower magnification than the minimum possible (118x) with the
ASH 17" classical Cassegrain would undoubtedly show DoDz 4 to better advantage.
