Date and UT of observation: 30 August 1989, ...
Location & latitude: La Clapiere Obs. (France, latN44 40 00, longE06 27 36)
Site classification: rural, alt.1650m (5500ft)
Limiting magnitude (visual in UMi): 6.0

Description: at 36x, nebulous star; at 72x, larger, more nebulous with a
companion-star of mag10 that is of needed help when focusing; at 100x, nice
planetary, bright and homogeneous; at 150x, still homogeneous, but slightly
oval N-S.

I can provide a scanned drawing of NGC 6543 to anyone who can read the
binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
