Object data: Vmag=11.9; Bmag=12.5; 21"x21"; type III; central star of
Vmag=15.4; discovered as a PN by Fleming in 1907; ELCAT: [OIII, 496+501nm]
= 17 x [Hbeta, 486nm].
RA/DE: 19h05.92m, -05°59.6' (2000.0)
Date and UT of observation: 09 July 1994, 00h00 UT
Location & latitude: La Clapiere Obs. (France, latN44 40 00, longE06 27 36)
Site classification: rural, alt.1650m (5500ft)
Limiting magnitude (visual in UMi): 6.0
Transparency (1 to 5 - best to worst): 1
Seeing (1 to 5 - best to worst): 3
Moon up (phase?): no
Instrument: Coulter 445mm/17.5" F/4.5
Magnification: 45-145x
Filters used: OIII

Description: at 45x, located as a nebulous mag13.5 star; at 87x, nice,
specially with averted vision; brighter towards the center; at 145x, small
PN, faint, homogeneous around a faint mag14 central star visible only 50%
of the time, another star of similar brightness is 6" from the E edge;
diameter estimated to be about 25"; a small group of stars (10 members of
mag12-14 in a diam1.5' area) at 5'S may be taken for NGC 6751 at low power.

I can provide a scanned drawing of NGC 6751 to anyone who can read the
binhex encoding of Eudora (for Mac); just mail me to try
(yann.pothier@fnac.net), it works quite often with other configurations...
