Description:
M 78 appeared as a small round and quite faint patch. I had to use averted
vision to see the fuzzy nebula clearly. To find its position I used the left
star of Orion's belt and hopped three stars north to 51 Orionis and then one
left. Now M 78 was south of this fourth star.
