Description:
Also visible in the finder, but a smaller and more compact cluster
than M7. A long chain of stars comes in one side, makes a sharp 90d
turn, then doubles back before making another 90d turn and exiting on
the far side. This forms a tall hat shape to me. There is a bright,
orangish-red star on the edge of this cluster which I later ID’ed
as the semi-regulur variable BM Sco.
