Description:
Quassar in Virgo and at 2 billion light years the most distant object easily
accessible to amateurs. The object was positively identified by using detailed
starcharts and once seen was surprisingly easy to see using averted vision.
Although no more than a faint star in appearance, it was a thrill just the same
to detect this quasar. It was easily the highlight of my evening. (which goes
to show what a strange hobby we have!)
