Description:
M89 is a round and rather smallish Messier galaxy with a very bright central
area. Not much details observed otherwise.
Just to the southwest is an interesting pair of galaxies, NGC 4550/51. NGC 4550
is an elongated pretty bright but very small galaxy best seen at 203X. Also
at 203X, NGC 4551 is an extremely difficult object almost touching NGC 4550.
It is a very faint and round galaxy.
