Description:
It was easily nailed my Pentax 40mm XL (22x). Showed as smudge with a bright
star, very small. 30x showed similar view. Now see haze at 60x; looked like a
hazy double star with companion 10.8th magnitude star GSC 4699:1219. Bright
center seen. Detected hazy oval shape at 110x with bright core. 146x reveal
more galaxy appearance with bright core with the haze expanding to
its “companion star”. Really nice and best view at 176x especially with
averted vision. Amazingly, there appears to be what look like a central star
embedded into the galaxy at 220x! Core is still bright.
