Constellation: Mon
Data: mag ? size ?
Position: RA 06:41.1 DEC +09:53
Description:
The Cone Nebulas is located southward from the Bright Blueish star with a 12
mag yellowish star ENE. Te cone appears as a faint shadow on the interstellar
cloud that is cast by some obscuring matter near the star. On the other hand
the cone may be an obscuring dark cloud that is actually cone shaped in profile
between us and the glowing nebulosity behind it. In any event the cone nebula
is at the apex of the Christmas tree cluster/nebula. Just north of the bright
blue star is a stream of stars running almost East-West. Ths whole FOV is very
intriguing and deserves a concentrated observing.
