Data: mag 10.7v size 45" x 35"
Position: RA 00:13.1 DEC +72:32
Description:
107X - The central star mask the anular hole.

186X - A bright oval tilted NNE-SSW with a prominent central star and weak
anularity. The disk within the anular hole is fairly bright and seen only by
that contrast. There is a 11.44 mag (appears fainter) at the southern edge.
The O-III filter enhances the contrast showing a little brightning along the
eastern edge and moderate brightning at the western edge. The ansi appear a little fuzzy. Find a 9.07 mag star 3.3' at PA=66 that is the eastern end of a
staggerd stream of stars running across the north. NGC40 is bright , small and
easy to find. Being small, it reqiures power and good seeing to resolve it's
detail.
