Description:
117X - NGC7209 almost fills the FOV. Near the center of the cluster is a 9.44
mag star. It is near a fishook shape of stars to it's east.There is a staggered
stream of stars running across the southern side of the cluster that is
reminescent of part of the constalation Hydra. The eastern end of the stream
ends with a fairly bright star (9.8v) and 2 lesser stars that form a triangle.
The western end of the stream is beyond the edge of the cluster and it forms a
irregular loop of 8 stars, the brightest being 8.52v. North of the hydra like
stream is another stream that passes through the cluster center, running
ESE-WNW. I have sketched over 80 stars down to 12mag and there are many more.
The cluster is not well organized, but there are many triangles, short strings
and several arcs. The cluster stars are some brighter than the background, but
they do not standout strongly.
