Data: mag 12.9 size 14.0' x 1.8'
Position: RA 12:36.3 DEC +25:59
Description:
117X - Faint spindle oriented SE-NW, PA=136* Halo is long thin streak fading
away toward the ends. SE side shows possably 2 small knots south of the dust
lane. The core is bright and elongated and divided by the dust lane unevenly to
the NE. The SW bulge is the larger and it seems to fair into bright area of the
halo. The NE bulge is much smaller than the SW one. It is approximately 1/4 the
size of the SW bulge and it exhibits a sharp edged dust lane. The dust lane
looks more difused beyond the edge of the core and the halo is visable to the
SW of the dust lane only. There is a 13.5 mag star almost on the galaxy's axis
aproximately 1.5' removed to the NE. In the 30Cm SCT it is a glorious sight.
