Constellation: Per
Data: mag 6.7 size 14'
Position: RA 03h:32m DEC +37d:23m
Description:
At 58x (35mm Celestron Ultima, 50.6' true field), this open cluster was
roughly rectangular shaped, aligned WSW/ENE and 20'x10' in extent. About
30 stars were visible from moderatley bright to barely resolved. There is
no real centralization, however there are more stars in the western and
southern areas. Galactic cluster NGC1342 is on the Herschel 400 list. Since
many stars were right at the edge of resolution, it seems likely that larger
apertures would show many more stars.
